These Thai Style Hot DogsΒ are made with beef franksΒ that are cooked to your liking and served with a cabbage slaw that has a little jalapeno heat. Top these off with a homemade peanut sauce, chopped peanuts and cilantro for a delicious twist on an American classic!
INGREDIENTS
- 8Β Hot Dogs /Β FranksΒ cooked as desired
- 8Β Hot Dog Rolls
For the Slaw
- 1Β tbspΒ rice vinegar
- 1Β tspΒ sesame oil
- 1Β tbspΒ maple syrup or 1 tsp sugar
- salt and pepperΒ to taste
- Β½Β cupΒ red cabbageΒ chopped
- Β½Β cupΒ carrotsΒ shredded
- Β½Β cupΒ red bell pepperΒ chopped
- Β½Β cupΒ cilantroΒ chopped
- 1-2Β tbspΒ jalapenoΒ diced
For the Peanut Sauce
- 2Β tbspΒ Peanut Butter
- 1Β tbspΒ soy sauce
- Β½Β tbspΒ rice vinegar
- Β½Β tbspΒ Ketchup
- Β½Β tbspΒ Gulden Mustard
- Β½Β tbspΒ Sesame Oil
- 1-2Β dashes red pepper flakesΒ optional
For the Toppings
- cilantroΒ chopped
- peanutsΒ chopped
INSTRUCTIONS
- Make marinade for slaw by blending rice vinegar, sesame oil, and maple syrup. Toss with cabbage, red bell pepper, jalapeno pepper, shredded carrots, cilantro. Set aside.
- For the peanut sauce whisk together the peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, mustard, and sesame oil. You can add a dash or two of red pepper flakes if desired.
- Serve cooked hot dogs with slaw on top and drizzled with peanut sauce. Top with more chopped cilantro and chopped peanuts.
